BUMP (Half Moon Theatre/Lots of Odds)***

By Emma

Link: https://www.halfmoon.org.uk/events/bump

Available until: Screenings every day except Sundays till Thursday 4th April. The email arrives at 11am on the day of the performances and you have two weeks to watch it.

Bump could have been about a lot of different things and as Half Moon Theatre do a lot of plays for children, I thought it might be about a toddler who falls over sometimes. I wasn’t completely wrong as there will be a toddler in the future but for now, the only bump is a baby bump.

MIDNIGHT TANGO****

 By Imogen

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYTbnmcFBJA

Available until: It doesn’t say but probably Sunday 30th November at about 7pm?

If anyone watches Strictly and they’re quite old they might remember when Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace were professionals between 2006 and 2012. This is their show.

I think The Shows Must Go On chose to stream it because it’s called Midnight Tango and that sounds quite Halloweeny, but it’s actually not very Halloweeny at all. But I think that’s a good thing. Some people go a bit crazy over Halloween. The only thing I care about is having a better costume than anyone else and even that’s not much fun when we can’t go to parties. I kissed six vampires last year and two werewolves. But I refused to kiss the zombies.

CULTURE IN QUARANTINE: FILMED IN LOCKDOWN (iPlayer)****

By Dave

Available until: 7-12 months

Culture in Quarantine: Filmed in Lockdown is a series of very short films. I’m not sure ‘Culture in Quarantine’ is the best possible name for it as ‘culture’ would put a lot of people right off but I’d say it is a fair title for the series as they are mostly based around the arts – there are short plays in various styles, dancing and music. There are also some autobiographical accounts of life in lockdown or the struggles people have in their day to day life.

THE MAD HATTER’S TEA PARTY***

By Cal

Available until: 14th August 2020

When I first noticed this on youtube, I assumed it was a ballet for children. The title suggested a performance for children. It was clearly based on or at least inspired by a children’s book. It also seemed to be a Royal Ballet production so I thought it was a ballet for children and I thought I’d get my six year old sister to watch it.

JEKYLL & HYDE (OLD VIC)****

By Cal

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPRP-ijwWP4&t=593s

Available until: Wednesday 12th August 2020.

I think Louise, Imogen or Megan would be better at reviewing dance than me, not because they’re girls but because they’ve been dancing for years and I didn’t get the opportunity until I was a teenager and by then, it seemed a bit late. But the recommended age is 16+ so we feel the reviewer ought to be 16+.

This performance includes strobe lighting, partial nudity, scenes of a sexual nature, sexual violence and physical violence.
