Romani Girl is the story of two girls who are friends. They say they’ll be friends forever, but then one of them meets a boy and everything changes. Everyone’s experience is unique, but most people have experienced something like this. It doesn’t even have to be a relationship. A new job, a new hobby, an old hobby that suddenly asks for a bigger commitment… there are so many things that can come between you and your friends.

The Theatre Royal Stratford East have created a series of short videos to help us through our third national lockdown. I’ve only watched one so far, but the titles look interesting and varied and I’m looking forward to watching them.

Petrichor is a word which comes from the Greek words for rock/stone and the fluid that flows in the veins of Greek Gods. (Which really makes me wonder about the biology of a God – does this fluid pump through their arteries too? Do they even have arteries?) The word is used in English to describe the way the world smells after it’s been raining. The smell is produced by the effects of rain on soil and many people love it.

But the characters in Petrichor might not experience this at all.
