This is a short musical written by James Graham which looks
back on 2020. It is about the difficult things we have faced and the things we
hope will be able to happen in 2021.
A lot of it is about sad things but I feel like the musical has positive things and hope in it too. It’s like it’s saying that even if people are literally alone they are not alone in their thoughts.
Most of it is performed by a group of
actors. They all take a different family role. Anita Dobson is the granny,
Zubin Varla is the dad, Susan Wokoma is the mum and Noah Thomas is the
teenager. It is mostly sung but with some spoken lines. I think the singing is
really good and so is the acting. The actors show their characters’ emotions
really well and I think people will identify with it.
At the end the Public Arts Choir, the
Company Chorus, the Faithworks Gospel Choir and the Quirky Choir join in. I
like how they show everyone on their own at first and then bring lots of people
together. I think it is really good.
